The Mentawai Islands sit 150 kilometres off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia — a remote chain of islands that remained largely untouched by the outside world until the early 1990s. When the first surfers arrived, they found something that had never been seen before: a concentration of perfect, powerful waves unlike anywhere else on the planet. Today, the Mentawais are considered the world's finest surf destination, drawing elite surfers and adventurers from every corner of the globe.
Sipora Island — home to Samudera Point — sits at the heart of this archipelago. Bosua, on Sipora's sheltered eastern coast, offers a rare combination of world-class surf access, calm anchorage, and a small, welcoming local community.

Bosua is a small fishing village on the eastern shore of Sipora Island.
